Why Are You Here On the Earth?

This question is not as challenging as you may think. Be encouraged. The short answer is below. And since you are reading this blog post, it assures me that you are alive, has been given another day of life, and can answer these questions:

Why are you here?

Hint:

You are here on planet earth to complete a task(s).

What is your task? What are your assignments?

God speaks to us about our individual tasks, but there are various scriptures about assignments, duties, and tasks, as well. Let’s take a look at Nehemiah 13:30 NIV. “So I purified the priests and the Levites of everything foreign, and assigned them duties, each to his own task.”

More thoughts to ponder:

  • Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matthew 22:27
  • Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Every day that the Lord allows us to live is a gift. It is a gift for us to fulfill an assignment or assignments. (Thank You, Father, for the gift of life and another opportunity to get things right in Your word.)

Since you have to be here anyway, love life, enjoy it and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you! 😊

A Point of Time ⌛

Deadlines…as the dictionary states is the latest time or date by which something should be completed. When on a job or having a business, there are deadlines to meet. Life has deadlines as well.

Everyone has an allotted amount of time to complete life’s tasks. Psalms 90 verse 10 gives us a realization that each of us has been given a certain amount of time to complete the purpose given to us by God. We do not know how much time we have on earth, how much time we have to complete the task, or when the time is about to run out.

Take a look at Psalms 90:10:

Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

Life can end before seventy years or go well beyond these years. As we see evidence every day of people living beyond expected. In Genesis 6:3 God says, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” Over the years the Lord has shortened the human life span.

We must remain humble and be grateful for every moment of life!

Time and Change⌚

Have you ever experienced the feeling of guilt when you are watching television or doing frivolous things? I have. These feelings come when I am procrastinating with my writing, my work or something I perceive that I need to complete for the betterment to individuals and those in the body of Christ.

I believe that when we are not in position or take too much time not fulfilling an assignment it can be a hinderance and God will have to give it to someone else that will carry out His plan.

One of the things I struggle with and I know many others do as well and that is wanting to be in control and know when the Lord will answer our prayer, if it appears to be a delay.

If you do not remember or take away anything else, know this, we cannot control TIME, CHANGE nor God.

We are in the fourth month, the second quarter of the year, and some have not gotten started towards an ambition. Will you reach the end of the year only to wonder where the year has gone and ask yourself what have I completed?

Results

Over the years, I know I have wasted time and not gotten the results in life I would have liked. I realize that how we manage and use time molds and shapes our future. We become who and what we are as a result of how we use time. And I understand that I must manage the changes I’ve experienced thus far.

As the clock ticks and time goes by, what would you like to see transpire this year? What would you like to accomplish, as the Holy Spirit directs? What tasks are you currently fulfilling?

Are you causing someone to be empowered or happy because you have fully developed your character or abilities? Are you living as a Kingdom citizen and representing the Kingdom of Heaven?

Give your time and attention to asking God for discernment so that you can operate in the fullness of your God-given potential.

In Conclusion ⏲️

As the saying goes…Time waits for no man!

If you feel that you are stuck, have watched too much television and have not taken the time to acknowledge the Father about His will for your life, then do so today. It’s a new year and a new day. God’s mercies are new every morning.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

Why do you exist? Because you have a task to complete.

Pray and ask the Lord if He would delay His coming as you are just learning to get things right, live righteously, and stand in obedience to His calling.
