Standing Ovation: The Lord Has Spoken

Do you realize how powerful God is? How majestic?

Have you ever had a day or several days and all you want to do is stand before God? To obey His commands because you want to please Him? To listen to Him and be in His presence because it is just so peaceful?

I want you to take a few moments to stand and praise the Great I Am. To give Him reverence and honor. He is all-powerful and worthy to be praised.

He said to me, Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you. As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me. Ezekiel  2:1-2

In the book of Psalms, we read about much dancing, praising, singing, and shouts of joy to the King! When the Lord speaks and inhabits the atmosphere, standing still is usually not attainable.

“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭47‬:‭1‬ ‭

Listen and Obey

Throughout the word of God, He gives us instructions and commands. He wants us to enter into His rest.

As I am reading Hebrews 4:12 over and over and in various translations I am in awe of our King. I can feel His authority. The shear power of His word being enforced!

Take a look at what is said in Hebrews 4 verses 12-13.

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

Just chew on that for a moment.

I do not know about you, but reading this makes me feel like a kid that does not want to misbehave for fear of what my father may do to me. Of course, the meaning of this verse is deeper than that, however, that is my analogy for the moment. 😊

Commands

God’s word commands authority!

As you meditate on the word of God and think about His authority, what are some commands that come to your mind?

My mind is racing with a few thoughts of God’s authoritative order. Take a look a what comes to mind:

Enter into My rest
Watch as well as pray
Preach the word
Be ready in season and out of season
Seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness
Have no other god before Me
Study to show yourself approved

The Scriptures

As Kingdom citizens, we have sixty-six books of the Bible filled with scriptures of teachings and commands.

The Lord tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Wrap Up

God is speaking and has spoken. I encourage you to read Hebrews 4. As you read this chapter and other scriptures of the Bible, educate yourself, learn, and study God’s word.

As Kingdom citizens, learning God’s word is a weapon we can use in our daily lives.

“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God’s word is alive. Speak life over your marriage, your family, the body of Christ, this nation and every other area!

Let’s continue to listen to what the Spirit of the Lord is saying and obey His commands. Pay attention to and follow His guidance.

“but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 1:20

Listen and obey the Lord, follow His commands, read the scriptures, fear and reverence the King!
