True Peace is the Perfect Peace of God

God tells us that those who love his law have great peace according to Psalms 119:165. What that means is when we obey God’s laws, precepts, and statutes we can be at peace.

God is Jehovah-Shalom, He is peace, in fact, He is perfect peace, as stated in:

(Isaiah 26:3) “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.”

Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace, but it means so much more than just peace. God is saying that He will keep us in Harmony, Wholeness, Completeness, Prosperity, and Tranquility. He is concerned with our total welfare and well-being, so when we LOVE, OBEY, and TRUST in His law, He is Jehovah-Shalom our God of Peace. We can trust in Him forever because He is our everlasting strength.

THE PEACE OF GOD THAT SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING

God intimately cares for our well-being and our peace so much that He simplified His desire in this way. Philippians 4:7 “And God’s peace shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ. And so, fearing nothing from God and being content with this earthly lot of whatever sort that is. His peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”.

Here’s some of these endearing terms as defined by Cambridge.Org

Harmony – internal calm, being in agreement or unity of peace.

Wholeness – The quality of being or feeling complete and not divided or damaged.

Completeness – The quality of being whole or perfect and having nothing missing.

Prosperity – The condition of being successful or thriving.

Tranquility – A peaceful calm state, without noise, disturbance, or turmoil.

The love of our Father far exceeds any expectation that we can have of Him. His Peace and reassurance to us is, that through obedience to His law we can be at rest. There is no worry, no anxiety, no fear, no doubt, or unbelief that can hold us in bondage in our minds when our minds stay on Him. He cares so deeply for us in a manner that we simply don’t comprehend.

(John 15:9-11) “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

Once we realize that God is the only source of TRUE and PERFECT PEACE our lives become a reflection of liberty and freedom in Him.

TRUE PEACE FREES THE HUMAN IMAGINATION

We’re no longer shackled with the yoke and burden of oppression in our minds. We are free to believe without any uncertainty about our God-given purpose in this world. God’s peace enables us to be all that He originally intended for us to be through and in Christ Jesus.

TRUE PEACE IGNITES THE HUMAN SPIRIT

Having the peace of God empowers us through the boldness of the Holy Spirit to take on life with fire and fervor. We become stable, well-positioned, unwavering, and tenacious in our faith and desire to live this life in every way that God designed us to.

TRUE PEACE QUIETS THE HUMAN SOUL

God’s loving peace is truly brought into perspective in:

(Numbers 6:24-26) “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Our souls are quieted to the distractions of this world when we fully trust in, have undeniable faith in, and strive after God’s word. When we walk in His perfect peace, all the opposing noise is canceled, both internal and external. All the frustrations that try to pull us into fret and worry are tuned out by the reassuring voice of God’s peace.

We stop listening to the devil’s lies about our lives, and about who we are. We stop walking by sight and begin walking by faith in Christ our Lord. We stop trusting our flawed experiences and start trusting His promises, His direction, and His word. Our souls are quiet and at rest in the Father’s peace.

To sum it all up, we can’t even fathom the Peace of God. It is beyond our understanding, but the exciting and awesome part is that we don’t have to, we just have to obey His commands and He does the rest.
