Marriage: Prayer for Your Husband

He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22

If you have the privilege of being married then you know how important it is to pray for your spouse. September 16, 2022, will be 33 years that I have been married to my husband. I am honored to be his wife and thank God for allowing me to be the woman, bone of his bone, and flesh of his flesh (Genesis 2:23). I get to enjoy being his sister in Christ, best friend, lover, and wife while here on this earth. So as a woman who builds her house it is only fitting to be in prayer for the man I love and that the Lord has assigned me to.

Pray that your husband will:

Spend Time with God

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are King of kings and Lord of lords. Thank You for allowing Your presence to be upon my husband. May he continue to live to worship You. I pray that he will pray and meditate on Your word every day and never lose sight of who You are and who You created him to be. May he always be obedient to Your word, spend time with You and be lead by the Holy Spirit. Let his relationship and fellowship with You, His Creator, be sweet, loving and everlasting. I pray that he will protect his time of fasting and prayer with You and honor You all the days of his life.

Be the Husband God Designed

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for my loving husband and our divine connection. I speak life over my spouse. I pray that he would have a heavenly perspective and be Kingdom-minded. I am blessed to have him as my life partner and together we are building a legacy of Your Kingdom. Allow him to see the good thing he found in me and be the man of God you intended him to be. Replenish him, fill him with joy, purpose, holiness, and prosperity. I pray that my husband is built up in the truth and direction of Your word so that he becomes an example of what a Godly husband should be. May he dwell with me according to knowledge as You said in Your word. Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers 1 Peter 3:7. Father, let me continue to be the apple of his eye and that we fall deeper in love. May life for us gets sweeter and sweeter as the days go by.

Be the Foundation for His Family

Dear Heavenly Father,

You have blessed us with a beautiful family. Thank you for our marriage and our family. I pray for a shield of protection over my husband, children, and entire family from the threat of the enemy. Please help him to walk in his God-given right as the foundation for our family. I pray that our family would be strengthened in our bond, encouraged and uplifted as he puts You first. As he prays, protects, provides for, and loves his family, keep nudging his heart toward Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. Use his relationship and fellowship with You to bring glory to Your name and be the family man You created him to be. You said in Your word, that in this world we would have troubles, I pray the things in this world, including challenging circumstances or difficult relationships would not overtake us. Thank You, Lord, that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every word that comes against us we will condemn. I pray that, his hope and trust would remain in You, and that he desires Your wisdom. May he walk in Your favor and that Goodness and Mercy follow him all the days of his life.

Honor God in His Work and Calling

Dear Heavenly Father,

Bless the work of my husband’s hands. You said in Your word that whatever he puts his hands to would prosper. Father, I ask that You continue to give him wisdom and discernment. Direct his heart and mind as he pursues Your purpose for his life and joins You in the plans that You have for him. Thank You for the opportunity we have today to be a light in this world. May he walk by faith and not by sight. I pray he walks according to his purpose with boldness, being an influence and representative of Your kingdom in every way. Lord, give him connections that will grow and add value to him as he seeks to do Your will. I pray that he will forever, thirst after Your kingdom and Your righteousness and the rights and promises of the kingdom are added to him.

Wrap Up

As a Kingdom citizen, you have rights. Speak the word and meditate on it day and night. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you in your relationship with your husband. Make it a point to pray for and with your spouse every day. As we partake in the necessities of life; food, water, and the air we breathe, let it be a life essential to pray for your husband.
