It has been a fun and relaxing time in Greenville, SC. Here’s what we did on our getaway. Our stay was during the week of the fourth of July so fireworks are included within this list of fun to-do’s so I will start with that.

1. Fireworks Show at Unity Park.

This was an amazing extravaganza. The show began around 9:45 pm. Derick and I arrived early to make sure we had our perfect spot, camping chairs in order, snacks, and everything ready to enjoy a wonderful celebration. The crowd was full of energy and excitement. The firework show did not disappoint. Firework shows and other events are scheduled throughout the year.

2. Take Family Pictures.

There were so many places to take pictures. Derick and I took lots of photos to cherish.

3. Go Swimming at the Hotel.

Swimming is always a relaxing treat. Sitting by the pool and enjoying the outdoors. The weather was perfect during our stay with a touch of summer warm and misty rain. The pool was the perfect spot to cool off!

4. Go for a stroll or hike at Falls Park on the Reedy.

There are so many breathtaking spots along the way to stop and take memorable photos. Plus, you get to enjoy a waterfall, sculptures, shops, and restaurants during your visit. Don’t come to this great spot if you are in a hurry. Find an area to take a seat after your hike and enjoy some treats and people-watch. (We found a seat and did just that!) There are multiple locations throughout Greenville, SC to hike.

5. Go bike riding.

Take a bike ride on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. If you decide to book a hotel stay in downtown Greenville, some hotels allow you to enjoy free bike rentals. Check with the hotel to determine if bikes are offered or choose to rent from a local bike shop.

6. Try a new restaurant.

We dined at Tipsy Taco for the first time. The food was very tasty and flavorful. We tried a few treats on the menu. The Birria de res tacos, El Grande taco, Carne Asada, and other tacos we sampled were all fantastic menu choices.

7. Relax in the hotel lobby or your room.

Make it a movie day or night. Grab a delicious dessert or as we did, Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The light was on! 😀

8. Rooftop dining or dinner on the balcony.

There are hotels to choose from that offer rooftop dining and rooms that have balconies along with a view of Falls at Reedy Park.

Many cities have several activities you can choose from during your stay, both indoors and outdoors. We enjoyed our getaway and look forward to returning.

What would you do first in Greenville, SC?

Be encouraged to enjoy your family, and life, and relish each day as a gift from the Lord.
