15 Self-Care Ideas for Any Day of the Year

Cherish little things to live in a moment of coziness, self-care, contentment, and happiness. Find tips for at-home and other activities that you can partake in all year round. Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall!

Which season do you like best? If cannot decide on just one, choose them all. Find ways to rest and renew your spirit, soul and body in all four seasons.

Find Comfort and Self-Gratification

Here are some things you can include in your life to create a cozy, soothing, and relaxing atmosphere or treat yourself:

1. Fresh Flowers

It’s nothing like fresh-cut flowers to brighten up your day and any room. Delight in the breath-taking blooms and enjoy them while they last. Which are your favorite?

2. Lunch with a Friend

If you are an entrepreneur, stay-at-home mom, or work from home, then you can appreciate the time spent talking to other adults and getting out of the house. Time with a friend can be very therapeutic. Make the food, fun, and laughter a highlight of the hour.

3. Manicure and Pedicure

Indulging in having a manicure and pedicure, can uplift your mood and calluses. What better way to take advantage of happy, soft hands and feet!

4. Massage; Full body or Foot Massage

Having a massage just does something to your psyche and relieves tension. If you have not partaken in this treatment, try it once in your life.

5. A Facial

Whether at home or with an esthetician, there are benefits to having a facial. As you age your skin can feel and become dry. Having a facial spa experience can make the skin feel and look fresh and rejuvenated.

6. Sit Outdoors

Uplift yourself with an early morning on the patio. Put on your comfy, cozy loungewear, gather your beverage of choice and head outdoors. Listen to the birds, squirrels, and rustling leaves, or opt to go for a walk. Now, this can be a fascinating time basking in nature. Seeing and listening to God’s creations.

7. Light That Candle

Awe! Candles, candles, and more scented candles! Candles aren’t for collecting and putting on display. Lighting a candle can be captivating. It illuminates a room, gives an area a nice fragrance, and is calming.

8. Bubble Bath and Reading

Draw yourself a hot bubble bath, grab a magazine or book and soak away. Or soak in silence and enjoy quiet time. What a pleasurable moment in one’s life.

9. Journal

Taking pen to paper is one of the most satisfying activities. For many, journaling is such gratification. Mind dumping helps to disentangle your thoughts, and it’s beneficial for relaxing and destressing.

10. Early Rise for Morning Prayer

Alone time in the morning while everything is motionless in the home and outdoors is like no other time of the day. Try being still and meditate for about 15 minutes before saying a word.

11. Stroll in the Park

Strolling requires you to slow down and pay attention to your surroundings. Having access to several parks can be quite magical. Some local parks have nature trails, waterfalls, and old structures with lots of history.

12. Research a New Restaurant or Shop to Visit

What’s new in the community. There are various companies and shops to venture. Utilize yelp, read reviews, then take a drive to check out new and interesting restaurant and shop locations.

13. Visit your Local Retail Warehouse Club or Home Goods Store

Find and try new products. The rule of thumb for this is to buy something you may deem useful, tasty, and/or productive. Take a day that you are not in a rush and browse aisles you may not normally go down. Read labels and try out display products.

14. Quality Time with Family and Friends

Time with family or friends can be an epic event, especially when you haven’t seen each other in a while. Board games, trivia, telling stories, and/or eating good food can be exhilarating.

15. Create a Fire in the Firepit Outdoors or Fireplace Indoors

Whether it’s early morning or late evening, this can be a terrific pastime. Gathering wood, lighting a fire, and listening to the wood crackle can put you in a happy place. Curling up with a throw and watching a movie tops it all off. Get your snack of choice and you’re all set!

Bonus Idea:

Declutter. Surround yourself with things you love. Remove excess items and focus on what you enjoy and that are meaningful. Decluttering is a lot of work, especially if you do not keep control of purging often. After the task is complete you will feel lighter, clutter-free and experience the benefits of decluttering.
